New tail light idea?

This forum is for discussion of topics relating to MX-3 lighting such as Headlights, Tail lights, Accessory Lights, Interior Lights, Etc. For example, Rear Euro Altezza Style Tail lights, Headlight units, LED's, HID's, Bulbs, Interior lights, Neons, Strobes, Auxillary Lights/Fogs or anything filament and gas discharge related.
Also anything dealing with the elctrical system.

Well in trying to take my euro chrome tails apart i ended up warping the lense on one and a few of the mounts on the same one due to the very low heat tolerance of them. so i'm scraping them and trying something else... i'm going to look into smoking the stock ones rather dark but leaving the reverse portion completely white.. i think that would be a good contrast i haven't seen anyone do this but wanted to know what others thought.

Ive done it, but in red. I found two problems you might have three tho!!, the standard clear lamp in the indictor flashed red after ( prob 1) so i changed it for a amber bulb this was fine in the night but during the day people could not see that i was indicating, bit dangerous ( prob 2) so i found a supplier of ultra bright amber led version lamps at this site http://www.ultraleds.com put the leds in and they were excellent and solved the day time indicating problem only thing was that because the leds use such little current it upset the indicating relay, it flashed like mad, as if a lamp was out so i had to put a load resistor across it to increase the current ( got these from same site ), prob solved !!. Only thing with the black tint that im not sure of is if the brake lights etc are gonna show through as red?? although you can buy hyper bright red lamps to solve this. Other than that i think you be okay, there is a pic of my tints if you click on www its not a that close up but you get the idea.
