Looking for an upgrade transmission or do you want to convert an automatic for a manual?<P>If you want to upgrade/replace the manual transmission, go to a Mazda dealer to find out (not buy) what part numbers fit the MX-3/ So far, I know that the 323, MX3, Protege and Ford Escort from the same year fit. Also the Kia transmission fits too.<P>If you want to convert to a manual trans, forget it. Just buy a new car. You'll never get the conversion to work and feel like it should.<P>But the same applies. If you're nuts, the transmissions mentioned above are bolt-ons. Just don't forget the pedal assembly, clutch release, shifter and knob, the shift boot, the ignition/clutch pedal sensor, bla,bla, bla...
