why not eliminate the most common simplest things first before you start guessing or looking for these weird things that could happen?go to your car check to make sure battery cables are tight, then check the starter connections make sure they're tight, try to start car.if it doesn't turn over remove starter, it only takes 15 minutes have it tested for free,if starter is good then let the guessing begin.

There is no fuse on the starter. It draws several hundred amps when turning over the engine. That would be a mighty big fuse to handle that.

Most times the "starter" dies it's just the starter solenoid. This is the small round thing bolted to the starter motor with the wires connected to it. If they are available for the MX-3 it will be a fraction of the cost of a whole starter.

hrmm....ok thx again guys.
I won't be able to try things today as my car is not here (stored at friends house) so time will not allow me to try these today. I'll try to test the starter in everyway that I can! Thx again...I hope that things get figured out soon!
