Oil Squirters
Oil Squirters
I was wondering if anyone knew how many oil squirters each piston of the K8 has?
Does this oil simply get burned off as it cools the pistons or is it reintroduced to the system?
I'm curious for two reasons, one, I never really knew what they did until I did some searching, and two, I seem to be loosing about a quart of oil every 500miles. There are no leaking gaskets, no smoke or odor of burning oil, and there is none escaping into the coolant flow, so I'm just wondering where its going to unless its being used intentionally by the oil squirters.

Re: Oil Squirters
Antwawn has it. Oil goes back into sump, squirters aren't the cause of your oil loss.
KLZE, ZE PCM, UR pulley, PS catback, PS STS, PRM, IAC bypass, 64mm TB, FOP hair gel

Cool, so one oil squirter per cylinder, and the oil is reintroduced to the system. Does anyone know if and when these things will give out, so I can know what I might need to replace in the future.
Apparantly I'm losing oil from somewhere else, somewhere I can't find... curious.
Re: Oil Squirters
I'd say if its not dripping onto your garage floor, its going out of the exhaust pipe. No other alternative, really.
And the most likely culprits are worn valve stem seals, worn/broken piston rings, worn/scored cylinder bores, in that order.
Re-shaped and re-sized gearshift lever. Best driveability mod you can do!
