which mods?

Post by stylez »

heh, I just bought a 96 gs, absolutlly love it. I've been doing alot of reading on this b.b. over the past couple of weeks and I must say that people have some pretty amazing cars out there. I really like all that I read about the 2.5l swaps, but I think for my purposes that I will stay with the 1.8l. What mods should I be consentrating on first? I like the ram air ideas that people were talking about. Any suggestions?

if you like making things and saving money i would first make the "home depot cold air intake", works great and only costs $30 plus the cone filter,
then do exhaust, get a universal muffler of your choice ( i personally went with a flowmaster 60series) and let a muffler shop run new piping from the cat bak to the muffler (either 2in or 2.25in)
Dan

thanks, I was also thinking that I should put in some good spark plugs and wires, what kinds are the best. This is the first time that I have had a car worth doing up and I want to do it right. What are the pros and cons are there for installing duel exhaust? Does it help any or just look cool. I would only consider it if it actually helped with hp.

on a basically stock engine without forced induction, these wires are fine. you wouldnt be able to notice a difference between ngk's compared to others inless you need as much spark as possible
Dan
