I found a pair of lime green mazdaspeed adjustable damping rear struts on a gs at the wrecker the other day.
Are they worth snagging? Can they be rebuilt?

Ok so I grabbed those struts after chiseling off the nuts (ouch!) along with all the other bits that appealed like strutbars, complete ac and rebuilt alternator. Must have been an old corksport customer.
Strutbars are awesome, great upgrade btw
Here they are warts and all..

was it a mazdaspeed or a corksport strutbar?

Heya SuperK, thanks for all the write-ups on the site. Made liberal use of your ac faq to achieve coolness..just waiting for o-rings to arrive.

The rear one is an ill fitting pipe style one that is functional but somewhat ghetto off the same car.
Btw I'm in Pitt, bornsticky.

Is this an eibach spring number? If so i may have to go back for the fronts...too bad the struts are just regulars.

These generally have mazdaspeed springs by eibach with them. I had a set but the shocks were all rusted and leaking

I still run the springs though.

True that..

Thanks Marc, makes sense..maybe the fronts blew and were replaced with something less pricey.
Well, a lowered rear only won't do...time to break out the chisel, crack some nuts and get those front springs

Well, those struts are rare and expensive. I almost got a set, I had them ordered through CS, but they called and told me they were backordered (for something like 8 weeks, but this is many years ago, so I vaguely remember) out of the timeframe that I needed them, and they talked me to upgrade to the Koni Reds.
People would get them for the rarity factory forsure, but because they weren't cheap, it makes me wonder what other goodies that car has.

Well if that one picture with that 'fast' strut tower bar is the car in question, it has a curved neck KL in it judging by the intake.

Oh I've totally pillaged that car...that strut bar pic is in my car (w/ze), I wasted no time installing it.
I picked off the front struts w/eibachs today, silver kyb's that actually came of with a ratchet and socket. I'm guessing the ms's on the front blew out and were replaced with these and naturally the springs were re-used.
The wrecker car is in good shape body wise, mitchell island pick and pull for those in the area. hood and bumpers are intact, wrap around spoiler good.blaze red.

I would be curious if it has front and rear MS swaybars...
