Hi all my name is Kegan and I live in Allegan, mi. I knew of this site and forum when I had my 1st mx-3 in 2006, it was 1994 4 cyl with about 150000 miles when I sold it. I wasn't able to keep the car becase of life changes and I needed a more reliable car for work and I didn't have enough money to make it more reliable. As such I sold it and bought a 2010 ford focus, a great car but it leaves much to be desired and I always say to my wife that I love my Mazda mx-3.

So I been on the itch to finding one again and his time be able to give it the time it deserves! I was able to spend a lot but I am the owner of this mx-3(funny cuz you guys posted in your forum):

FYI I still don't have the car lol, but I am having it transported to me soon :)

Like I said at the start of my post I knew of this forum and was signed up with this site before but I lost my username as I joined over 6 years ago. I am here to put time into this car that I love so much, it will take time as I am having a kid here in July and it will be my 2nd kid. I hope that being a member here will be a postive experince and help me a ton with making my mx-3 of my dreams!

I work full time as a surgical assist for vascular sergons in Kalamazoo, mi, I am married with one baby girl and one on the way!

Anything else I need to post as a newbie???

Kegan

Good luck with the car and welcome back. Automatic,,,it's an automatic. Not the end of the world or anything but a standard trans would be so much more dependable. First mod, auto to standard trans conversion. :D If the car has no rust issues like at the rear trailing arms any thing is possible.

I don't know what's this means... If it means it is easy to work on then cool! My 94 mx-3 was great to work on and fix throughout high school and college...

Sorry don't know a lot of the lingo...

Thanks,

Kegan

yeah easy to work on and there is little to no repairs needed. The body seems to be pretty rust free as well.

A good solid "base" to build off of

Yes guy said all rust free no major scratches and or dents. Also did a carfax only 1 owner!!! That sold me kinda on the car one accident left front in 1995. Guy said some of the clear coat is coming off... But I am good buddys with a guy that owns a body shop :)

I am just worried about the angey noise the engine makes... We will see I will be soon a work log... Looks like the thing to do here ;)

So, what are your plans for the car? Are you going OEM or are you looking to do something more extreme.

Well I am going to start with small goals like getting it to run smooth 1st... This is my 1st time doing somthing like this! I would like to go OEM with most of the car, but just add small things like different headlights/taillights. Also wanting to replace the inside interior of the car.

I said I want to stay more on the OEM side, but is there a line that gets crossed when start doing a lot of little things like that? I think the mx-3 is a sexy car as is, but the teal green has to go... My 94 RS was teal I really need post old pics of that girl. She deserved more love then I could give her :'(

So my car came Wednesday of this week at night... It is has been hard to diagnose the problem with engine cuz it was at night. I could tell there is ALOT of oil leaking, not just active leaking while running but u can tell it has been leaking. The inside is simi beat up but nothing that needs a little TLC...

I will post pics on it when I can uncover it and acutally work on it a bit. I don't have a garage but I do have a place the car for me to work on it.

If I find pics of my old mx3 I will post them as well.
