Hey guys my step dad has a 93 mx-3 1.6l the ac works and blows cold air as long as the fan is on setting 1, but as soon as he turns it on to 2-3-4 it turns the a/c completely off, it shoots out air but not from the a/c only from the outside, you can actually see the a/c light turn off when he changes it from 1 too 2-3-4.
Does anyone know what would cause this?

maybe its the resistor?
or just the switch itself
my protege5 did the same thing, except it would only work on the 3rd level, but not 1, 2 or 4.

oh the legendary protege a/c switch lol my gf's does the same thing.
if im not mistaken the first step is to take the switch apart and clean the contacts and if the problem still persists then check the resistor
