Easy way to remove hoses?

I can never seem to get the coolant hoses and rubber fuel lines in and around the engine off without cutting them and replacing them they either wont slide off or they are melted right on (which seems to be the case with coolant hoses...)

I had this problem when i swapped in my klze last year and again yesterday i pulled a DE with a friend and had the exact same issues

is that normal? or am i missing some easy obvious trick? Like i've seen fuel line pulling tools but i've always thought those were for quick disconnect type lines and not so much the hose and clamp kind of lines?

I always try and twist first, then pull. Once you free up even a small section of the hose, you can soon spread that free section with a twisting action. Worst case scenario, mole grips to twist a little.

very normal.. Over time hoses glue them selves to what ever they are seated on... The longer its been installed the more of a b---- it is to get it to break free... As mentioned twist the hose first... Use plyers if needed just take care not to cut the hose... Also if it has spring clamps, replace them with some better clamps.. Once you crack a hose loose with a spring clap and go to reinstall it with the same spring clamp there is a good chance it will leak...

If I have to use pliers on a hose I always try to grip it over the pipe that it is installed on, not just on the hose itself. The hose almost always tears when I do that.

The fuel rails are tougher because the bubble on the pipe is larger than on other fittings becuase it's pressurized. Be real careful with the fuel lines.

I like to use these to remove hoses, work pretty good. You have to twist hose first to break it loose

Those r good for the clamps ^^^^^^. what i do is take a set of plyers with the little groove in them for bolts n stuff and grip the hose with that then twist n wiggle a bit and itll break loose. then u should be able to just pull n wiggle it off. make sure the clamp is off the spout or w.e. And that theory on your spring clamps isnt true... ive reused them on my k8 and my ze when i did the swap, i have 0 leaks. and never have had a leak from one of them.

I made a habit of lubricating hoses off of a little oil from the dipstic & everytime I have to go back to a hose its saved me time & knuckle skin

I do the pliers thing as well squeezing (kneading the hose) and twisting and I also found inserting a small common screw driver between the hose and pipe works. Oh, cussing at the hose helps too.

To a T, exactly what I do.

Well, except for that PITA 90 degree elbow on the back of the Milli IM... I cut a portion of that evil SOB off, so I can remove it without scaring my neighbors away with my cursing. Deleted the EGR too, for the sake of convenience... That ridiculous threaded nut for the exhaust port was taking more time than anything during manifold removal.
