[DIY] Under $25 PCV Catch can

i made a catch can today and thought id share how i did it.
first you want to find an air tight stainless/aluminum canister. thermoses work good. i grabbed a 500ml, but you could probably get away with a 350ml one if you wanted it smaller. $12 this is what i used
then your going to want 2 hose fittings. i used 1/8"x4" brass pipe connectors like this $8. you can get the ribbed ones made for hoses but i wanted it to have some depth inside the can.
and finally you want some baffling (this is optional but i suggest it). i used a stainless steel scrubber. $3
now drill 2 holes in your lid the size of your pipe connectors. i then drilled some holes into the bottom end of one of the connectors to aid in venting and prevent clogging. i also cut the 2nd connector in half to give the oil vapour some time to form before it gets sucked back into the intake. you then want to seal the connectors into the lid. i used silicone caulking but jb weld or pvc(rubber) cement should also work, it just depends what you have on hand.
now take your stainless scrubber and stretch it out so it fills the inside of the can.
now screw the cap back on and check the vacuum by sucking on one nipple while covering the other with your finger. if it holds vacuum your done. if not apply some more silicone until you get a proper seal.
