ok, so, my klze came alive for the first time tonight, sounds great except for the fact that the rpms skyrocket and i have to shut it down. did it a couple of times just to make sure it wasn't a fluke. am i looking for a ginourmous vacuum leak? IAC hung wide open? don't know what else could cause this. any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Check your VAF and TPS.

Check your throttle linkage and make sure the throttle is indeed closed. Verify visually and make sure it stays in the idle position (kinda closed) when the engines running.
