Finally got my brother to sell it!

Hey everyone. Recently picked up a 95 MX-3 RS off my brother. It took a while, but I finally talked him into selling it. He didn't drive it anyway (refuses to drive a stick). I'm pretty anxious to see what kind of cheap mods can be done to the little 1.6. I can't quite afford a BP swap, and the 1.6 has pretty low mileage and runs like a champ! Oh, and I love how even some import fanatics have no idea what the heck it is!

Nothin is cheaper than the BP swap bud. If you can't beat $300 for 20 HP. Everything else will net you sad, sad gains.

If you can't take the big hit, best to do a tune up, preferably on all the stuff that swaps over. Plug wires, plugs, intake, re-set TPS, change your oil, change your trans fluid, inspect your belts, inspect your suspension, etc.

Welcome here.

I guess I could always track down a BP and have it on standby. Ive checked all the Escorts in the local scrapyards, but the only thing I come across is the 1.9. I do need a tune up for sure. It had the timing belt and brakes done right before I got it.

I figured $1k was pretty good on a 95 with a good body and 125k miles. Since I got it, I've put the GS lip and spoiler on and thats about it. Ill try and get some pics on here too. :D

I notice the bumper has been cut up a bit. Was there an IC'd turbo setup on the car at any time? You can look around for oddly placed holes that were used to mount the odds and ends required for said setup.

If not, at least part of the work is done for a turbo project :freak:

Welcome to the boards, congrats on a clean car!
