AZ3 throttle sensor

Hi everybody..I am a new user and only found you because of trouble with my AZ3. After several people looking at the problem it has been pinpointed to the throttle sensor not working ( potentiometer ? )
It starts and ticks over perfectly but dies when the accelerator is used.
My contacts are unable to find a replacement sensor so I am hoping that someone on the forum could help ?
It is a 1993 Autozam AZ3 with a 1500cc Mazda engine.

. I am from New Zealand and all we have over here are AZ3s and Pressos. It would be relatively easy for me to locate an AZ3 throttle sensor as the 1500cc engine was the only 4 cylinder choice in NZ for the az3 (J-Spec). Where are you located?
