1.6 DOHC 5SPD intake help.

I gotta '94 Mx-3 1.6 DOHC 5SPD and im trying to find out how to get a CAI not RAM air intake cuz im in FL which it rains all the time and would have problems with flooding.... ive searched everywhere and onlyy come up with the filter. i know there are people out here who have the CAI short, and i need to know how..

uhm a cold air intake is going to give you problems with hydro locking, short ram takes dry air from the engine bay...

No intake is going to give you hydrolocking issues unless you mount it at the bottom of the inner fender and then drive through a ditch.
Its not a boat, if the water gets that high, you'll get whats coming to you anyway. Rain onto the filter won't cause hydrolocking.
Just buy one on egay that looks close and make it work.

That’s where i had my filter, but i never drove through a ditch

I live in WA and we get alot of rain. there are also filter covers that repel water that you can put on as well as inline screens that catch water and direct it out. I have a CAI on my 8 and it literally is about 8" off the ground in the grill, and have never had an issue until my filter cover came off. it was old and lost its elasticity. It lasted about 5 years, good investment for about 10 bucks.
Iven if you drove through a puddle you would have to sit there for a duration of time befor the inner fenderwell filled with water.
