i recently purchased a 96 mx3 precidia and after checking the vin multiple times it tells me that i have a 1.8l 4 cylinder engine, I can't seem to find any info on the specs of this engine, it it from a different model ? Is it from 1996 cars only ?
thanks for the info

your vin will never tell you you have a 1.8L I4, because that motor never came in an MX-3.
You either have a 1.8L V6 DOHC
1.6L I4 SOHC
1.6L I4 DOHC
1.5L I4 DOHC
Where do you live?
if you have a 4 cyl, and its a 96, its a 1.6L DOHC, we call it the B6DE.
Your VIN won't reveal a swapped motor... clearly, as it only tells you what the car had from factory.

ah ok I found it weird that the vin decoder told me it was a 1.8 i4 since I couldn't find any info about that engine. Sounds like it's a 1.6 dohc.
Yeah i live in Quebec
Here's my vin if you want to try it out: JM1EC4337T0000000
Thanks for the info

That vin cries "FAAAAAKE" to me.
that many 0's? not likely.
Are you SURE thats the original vin? it is also etched into the fire wall, on the engine side, in the area infront of the passenger.
