I am about to swap my stock 4 cyl. engine for a Ford Escort GT motor and tranny, besides motor and tranny, do I need any other things from the escort or will the motor and tranny bolt right up?

The fuel rails will throw you a curve ball. 3" of fuel hose and 4 hose clamps will fix it though. Also, the VICS system, and the fuel rail connector will need some attention.

Did you do any research? I think not.

Read the 4cyl FAQ like I politely suggested in your other thread. Then, you can ask questions without sounding like just another lazy noob.

I didn't call him a lazy noob. I said that if he was better informed he could avoid sounding like a lazy noob. I thought I did a pretty good job of making my point without being disrespectful. The fact that I had already politely suggested that he do a little reading may have caused me to be slightly more direct the second time.

Oh no anohter self proclaimed "FULL TIME STUDENT". Well I'm a full time single parent with two girls, a big dog, a cat and a son who only shows up when his pocket book is empty. My hairs falling out, my johnson only works every other full moon and my humour is so bad a crippled guy got out of his wheel chair and walked out on me. Education is research and research is education. The path of the knowledgeable is awash in lazy noobs who tried for the quick fix only to get flamed for their lethargicly sluggish disposition.

Oh ya, welcome to MX-3. Hope you enjoy your stay with us. :)

Helton: without trying to criticize you, if you're not so knowledgeable about it, you probably shouldn't attempt to do the swap, or, at least, you should make it a POINT to read as much as possible beforehand. An engine swap is not particularly complicated, but you have to know what you're doing. Also, if you don't have time to do the reading, how are you gonna make time for the swap? Believe me: best case scenario, you're in for several long hours of work.

You have 3 sections in this forum that are chock full of information you SHOULD read, before swapping your engine: the 4 cylinder FAQ, the 4 cylinder section in the technical discussion, and the worklogs. My advise would be: don't even do a search, START READING EVERYTHING. Then, once you feel comfortable with your knowledge level, you can get to work. :)

Anytime. :)

But you need to be a little more patient. They're not di--s. They're just sick of repeating themselves to death.
Believe me: I've been (and I am) a member on several other forums (from cars, to computers, soapmaking, distilling, etc) and you will not find better people anywhere else in the internet. This is by FAR, the friendliest, more drama free forum I've ever participated on. Just stick around, and you'll see...

Like perhaps to read the 4 cylinder FAQ!!! As I have said three times now. Once politely, again pointedly...and now annoyedly.
