Has anybody used that paint?
Any opinions, please?
What's to be expected, quality wise?

Where have you seen it at, local parts store or online? What kind of paint it is, ie acrylic enamel, urethane, etc? I looked up and Jegs carries it in quarts for $20/qt. Seems like one of cheapest paints which probably will make it an acrylic enamel. It will not last for long time certainly. You're better off with single stage urethane w/activator. I recently painted a boat for a customer and went with single stage acrylic enamel paint. I bought 3 quarts of it and activator. It was $150, not very much imo. Customer was on budget and I went with cheapest paint. It's actually a bit expensive for acrylic urethane but since it was metallic/flake color it was bit more than solid color.
If you're painting a car that you plan to have for a while you're better off with better grade paint.
I was at parts store today and saw 67 Impala and it looked real nice. As I've approached it I could see very shoddy bodywork on sides. You could see waves, low/high spots. It was not straight at ALL! Yet guy painted it nice burgundy metallic color. Paint was also blotchy/tiger striped. Looked like an amateur painted it. Metallic paint is definitely not for amateurs, you have to have a lot of experience painting before you can play around with metallics.
PPG has budget line called "Shop Line" paint and it's definitely won't break bank but will look nice if you're repainting your car.

Thank you Mitmaks. Never mind.
I've been doing some reading. For what they say, it's acrylic lacquer, and not a particularly good kind, either.
Too bad. I have a few cans I bought on clearance when I was working at Advance Auto Parts, and I wanted to see if somebody had used it, and with what results. Well, prompted by your reply, I've been reading reviews in other forums, and most everybody concurs it's garbage.
So I guess I'll be using it for something else...
Then again, I guess I shouldn't complain much, when I paid 95 cents per can...

Yep. I'm building a glycerin still now. Looks like it's gonna be candy orange when it's done...

You want to use CATALYZED paint aka 2K (2 part) paint. Paint that has some kind of catalyst/activator that has to mix in with it. It provides barrier for moisture since paint is porous and moisture will get underneath paint if it's not catalyzed and your car will rust.
It is always best to use good quality epoxy primer over any bodywork/bare metal before painting your car.

Yep. Last night I spent like 3 hours reading articles on hotrodders.com, and going through House of Kolor catalog. It was a really big surprise to see the prices for the paint, as I thought it'd be much more expensive than that. About $70 for a Qt of Kandy doesn't seem that high. And the colors they have are incredible...
Thank you Mitmaks for everything. I have a lot of reading (and practicing) to do.

Tell me about it
Paint is one thing I can't seem to grasp... mitmaks knows this, I've PM'd him multiple times with the same questions...
Acrylic, laquer, enamel, urethane, epoxy, catalyzed, two part...
+1 vote for mitmaks to write a "Paint and Painting your car for Dummies - MX-3.COM edition" thread.

I have used Duplicolor plenty a times. Never had a problem. 3 sets of rims I did with thew Wheel paint from DUplicolour, and all three sets had ppl asking where they were powdercoated. When I told them it was a spry can, they couldn't belive it.
Duplicolor has always been very good to me, never a problem. Do dulling, no cracking, etc etc.
I've ene used their two step spray cans with great success. I used the red metallic for the entire interior of my show truck. not a chicp or scratch, or fading in the three years I had it.

Duplicolor is made by Sherwin-Williams, so we know it's a good brand.
This was not about the brand, but about a specific line of do it yourself body paint, called "Paint Shop".

DupliColor, Krylon or whichever else spray can you use is still better than leaving metal exposed. However it does not belong on a car, especially part that's exposed to sun, rain, frost, etc. Spray can paint is not catalyzed and is NOT designed to be used at permanent protection for parts.
Of course everyone has their quality standards, that's why some people take their cars to Maaco and some people buy $500/gallon paint to paint their car.

I'm okay (re)doing body work sometimes, if it saves me $500/gallon.
I've used Duplicolour too, and it seems alright. Just the black stuff though, and the clear. Not the cheap cheap crap, it is designed for cars... The guy at Napa said the local hosh posh body shop uses that clear, too. I don't expect showroom quality or even to get 5 years out of it.
Wow, please excuse that horrid clarity.

Napa sells S-Williams's lower end paint.

Hey Mitmaks, need a professional opinion:
PPG or House of Kolor?
