So, I'm looking into (re)painting the body to fix the previous owners touch ups that they used spray paint on... I've looked at several different sprayers and compressors and I'm leaning twards a smaller gravity feed sprayer. I know that it will have to be refilled several times, but assuming the body takes a little less than a gal. then I will be able to do most parts with out a refil.
I will be picking up a few junked body pieces to practice on between sanding, filling, and all that fun stuff, but wanted to see if anyone does their own body paint, and what has been found to be a better quality sprayer than the next.

Quality paint gun costs upwards of $300 for a decent one. You want each gun set up for each product ie primer gun, paint gun, clear gun. If you're just doing one car it's not worth spending $100's on paint gun. You're better off having someone shoot it for you. Also you will need paint booth. Paint fumes are hazardous and you don't want go on spraying it in your garage where fumes will get inside your house. Neighbors probably wouldn't be too happy either.

My garage has a blower in it already for any fumes, plus detached from the house so that parts in the clear. I didn't know if needing a different gun for each component was needed or if it could just be cleaned between process to allow each to dry and such. I'm not really worried about the hassle of doing it, it adds more of a satisfaction in the work, plus everywhere I've gone has quoted around a grand + to paint and I don't have that type of money to toss into the look of the car sadly.
