Hi all ~

My sweet lil MX-3 was recently attacked by a vicious hail storm. Sadly, it did extensive damage. One major issue is, my rear windshield was completely shattered and broken out. I have called numerous glass companies. They all tell me the same thing..... MX-3 rear glass is no longer manufactured.

Next step was to call all the salvage yards in my area. Only ONE had MX-3's at all. Those of us who buy them tend to love and keep them! I had planned to buy the rear glass and have it installed in my vehicle. However, now I'm being told that won't work either because the salvage vehicles are all base models. My car is the V6 model, which has a rear windshield wiper.

I am hoping someone here will be able to tell me where to find a replacement windshield, or if the base model glass will fit my lovely car after all. Until I have new windshields (along with other repairs), I am completely car less. =(

Hi, Kandye. That certainly is a predicament. You came to the right place, though. Hopefully someone near you has an extra hatch. If not, I have one, with wiper, and everything. It would cost a bit to ship it from here, but I don't need to get alot for it.

I never realized you couldn't buy the hatches new. Good to know...

Hello Kandy, I'm sorry to hear about your car! I love hail when I'm walking... just not on my car.

Have you considered alternative glasses? Maybe a plexi or other product? It would reduce weight, and be fairly durable if there was ever another incident(or hail storm).

I don't know much about cost as far as those are concerned, but others likely will!

Good luck on the repairs, I hope you get her going again!

Base model hatches, rear glass, and front glass will work. You just won't have a rear wiper anymore, that's all.

some have rear wipers. I know several up here do anyways.
