throttle cable too short?

so I bought this MX3 of a complete and utter moron apparently. yay. he was halfway done the tranny swap from ATX to the MTX. now i go to put the throttle cable back on and its like an inch or 2 too short. have no idea why he'd need to mess around with the throttle? when i put the cable in the bracket it pulls the throttle back about halfway. doesn't seem right. i've tried pulling more cable out and its definatly the end of the cable anyone have any other ideas on what he might have done?

did you put it in the correct bracket? There is a bracket for cruise, for the throttle cable, and for the kick down cable.

you don't even change the gas pedal in an ATX-> MTX swap. If you're 100% sure you're putting it on the throttle body correctly, then check the pedal, maybe something is jamming it. Is the cable seized? the spring on the pedal should be able to retract the loose cable if you pull it out.
