Well, i made up my mind FINALLY....Im going to get the SE in AL.
So far it has a bad water pump, but it has new tires, clutch, bearings and fuel pump.
I will need to have a pump put on it and might as well do a timing belt while its apart.
I will post pics when i get it home and all cleaned up (maybe one pic of it not cleaned up)
It has been primer black for 10 months. So, id like to paint it Raspberry again.
It does still have it's front lip and the carpeted luggage tray in the hatch.

Now i can paint my other SE a gold or baby blue color like i had wanted to and have them both all pretty.

I will keep ya'll posted. Wish me luck.... (im taking my girl friend Hollie and another chic Sara to help drive)
It will be like a chic convoy of MX-3's.... LOL Me in my SE, Hollie in the new SE and Sara in my GS.

Do you do all of your own mechanic work? Even most? I'm super impressed.

too bad ur not in ontario. id trade ya a minty gs primered door for the SE rasp metallic one just so i dont have to get the door on mine re sprayed.>_< my se has a rotten door. if i got it replaced id have to get it resprayed. figured if ur changin the color anyways id trade ya

I do have some pics and some bad, sad and mad news.
The car needs a motor first off.... They: (owners Brother and Father) Owner is in the Airforce.
They think because they had a new clutch and tires and a few other things done
($1800.00 worth of stuff) that makes the car worth WAY more even if the motor needs to be rebuilt.
It hardly stayed running. Couldnt even test drive it.
I jumped the diog box with a paper clip after i reset the codes.
I took my MIGHTY BLUE shop manual and SHOWED them what codes the car was screaming.
(yes, im being dramatic) They didnt speak very good english to begin with.
They did tell me when i was on my way there.. that the water pump was going out
and it leaked all the water out during the night (WTF). BUT, the water pump didnt make
that terrible sound they make when they are going bad and it didnt run hot... BUT....
there was (not one) BUT TWO cracks on the cover over the timing and a nice long one
in the top of the valve cover by the oil cap. The area under the spare tire was rusted out,
the sun roof leaked, and the hood wouldnt shut. Sunroof wouldnt close with out manually
pulling it closed. Passanger side had rust on the roof. Rust under the carpet on the passanger side floor .
Their dog jumped on me and knocked my camera to the ground. Now it wont come on.
So i only got one pic with camera and a few with my phone. I never got the movie camera out.
To affraid after the dog thing.
The back seat wouldnt come out cuz one of the lever's was broken and was glued down to the plastic.
Driving time there ended up being 7 hours in because they couldnt tell me how to get there......
anyway, as u can tell... im upset because i didnt come home with another MX-3
and I took other people with me (that part was fun)
my camera is no longer working... BUT.... i found a SWEET little white 300zx for sale.
All in all.. it was a fun all girl road trip and we made one trucker smile & wave at us.
I do feel bad cuz i wasted their time... but we really did have a fun crazy time.
Im still pouting cuz i didnt get another SE. The car was NOT well taken care of and
needed way to much work for what they wanted. They spoke HIGHLY of the car and
the car's care by them. AND........................
Now my BF is playing the "i told u so" card. But... if i had NOT went to see it for my self, then i'd always wonder if i missed out.... more later............ im so PO'd.

Aww, sucky deal. You're bound to run into those sometime. picture pictures pictures! demand them from people selling from far away.

Unfortunate about your camera. Hopefully its something simple like the batteries are loose?

His Brother called me today and apologized to me for my drive out there to find all i had was a bad deal.
He also told me his Dad took the car today to find out what ALL is wrong with it... Guess what?
CRACKED HEAD... no anti freeze... water only... during the freezing 18-19 temps we've had.
That would explain the water on the ground the day he called me and told me the water pump was bad.

at least his brother was nice enough to call you and apologize, hard to come by people like that these days

sounds like my SE, lol but i got it for 400 so it was worth it just for the shell and the tranny.

Id rather have a 7 hour cruise and dodge a bullet. It was probably a fun drive.

Sucks. I drove to canada one time to pick up a car that was advertised with pics, and shown to be running, not accidents etc.

Drive 6 hours, rent a trailer and get all the paperwork together to cross a car over the border...


show up to look at the car. 2 separate accidents (pics were MONTHS if not YEARS old) rust everyone, sunroof didn't open, axel boots torn. smoked inside, blah blah blah.


I was really upset.


My next mx3 will be perfect, I will not travel that far again to find a POS.
