Ahhh, im having so many probs with my car

yesterday my car seemed to go fine but today when i drove to work i noticed a knocking sound which sounds like its coming from the front passenger side of the car. Sounds like a knocking/chugging sounds mix, like something is stuck on the axle. Also i don't know if it's part of the same problem but my brakes are hardly working, like i have no more power steering. They will only fully brake when the pedal is fully depressed.

You are kind of hard to follow.
Does the axle make noise only when turning?
If your brakes suck, try bleeding them, and replacing pads/rotors.
If your powersteering doesn't work, check the belt, first of all. Its also on your waterpump, so be worried about that.

No, the noise is always present, not only when turning. I won't be driving my car until monday when it goes to my mechanic for timing belt change. I was just wondering what it was so i can have an idea on what the cost will be to fix.

If you're doing Tbelt change, plus other diagnostic - Very expensive. I'm gonna guess over 500 for sure.

Where are you located? Find a member who lives close by if you can, hopefully they won't bend you over as bad as a mechanic will.
If you're a V6 expect to pay a mechanic several of your limbs, if 4 cyl. you might make out okay with just 1 missing limb.

yea i have the k8, im pretty new to the mx3 scene so i havent had much time to get to know other members in my area, which is quebec city. My mechanics assistant said in their system it says it could be 4-5hrs work. So about 450$, hopefully it will be less hours because they are in the rush of winter tire changes and stuff. I just hope not to pay over 700$ for everything :S. I will definitely start getting know people on mx-3quebec i have more options next time.
