Okay, if you don't know already, I wrote off my BP MX3.
I also own a green GS w/ mint K8 and crap body.
There is a green gs w/ the 5 spokers, dead motor, and a damaged body, but less rust than my current.
I'm going to look at a fully operable green RS tomorrow.
My BP engine is perfectly okay, along with the interior/mechanics. haven't had a good look at it yet.
I have about 3k to spend. What should I do?
I'm really leaning towards ZE.

hmm.
I think you should go with the one with the least amount of rust. I would rather deal with mechanics then body work. Rust can be a pain..

Agreed, engines can always be replaced but once you get rust that's the end.

Also, since you'd still most likely have your rustbucket GS, you could use that as a donor for a I4 to V6 swap in that RS if its clean. Just a thought....

More details.
I bought my current GS pile for $300 and it has cost me $450 to get everything working, minus stab links, struts, and rust repair (all left for safety, most likely will sell unsaftied)
The gs I looked at had:
cracked windsheild way on pass side
cracked front bumper and lip, repairable
hole in quarter and bumper from road maintenace machinery (not sure how that happened)
rust around two lock cyls
little but of rust under quarters.
its a 96.
I'd probably offer 200 for it.
The RS: details to come. asking price is 1k.

Part out current GS
Part out BP and any other mx parts you have
Look hard and find a minty GS and go from there. Trust me, from having 3 mx's it pays to have something with a minty body, it just makes things alot easier, cheaper and one less major thing you have to worry about.

So now I'm really thinking on ZE.
I don't want to screw with the straight neck issues.
So, KL31-101/1A1 on the heads
KL31 on the cams
JE 50 on the VAF
KL01 on the intake -
Kl31 or KL36 on the ECM?
Not oily, not broken, not yellow under the VC.
Pay 800<1200. <200 for shipping
Anyone in Toronto want to look at engines for me? seems thats where they all are. Preferably someone who has done it before...
Also, I might be needing two, one for my PGT buddy.

first, how did you w/o your bp? if it was abuse or driving too fast, I'd say get a sohc or a moped.
the way I see it, you can't go wrong. It's nice to have an extra bp sitting around... and I think all the ze's ever made are already owned by everyone on this site. You know enough about the cars to win no matter how you play it.
best of luck

I blacked out, blanked.
I remember nothing between the road and sideways into the culvert.
The best explaination was sleeping, but I wasn't tired...
