So, I now own 3 MX-3's....
Written off BP RS - to be parted out
Crapola GS - to be parted out untill just before it can't drive (winter beater)
Black GS - to be DE, and DD.
This thread concerns the black GS.
$600.
Bad:
toast T belt
spare disty
227k
rust on both rear wells, but not bad
rust hole on inside of rear fender, but easy fix
absolutely solid rockers
cracked windsheild
a couple little dints here and there
needs a drivers door eventually.
Good:
rustless aside from mentioned
solid suspension
clean plastics
S/R
A/C
P/W
and of course, 5 speed.
What I wanted was a solid car, and I kinda have it. It has a few days worth of work in it, but its nothing I can't handle or won't fully and entirely enjoy.
Pics of progress to come.

just out of curiosity.. why did you get rid of the BP MX?
oh, and in your 4cyl topic you talked about stopped the fuel lines from spraying when you work on 'em... did you try running the car, and while it runs disconnect the fuel pump harness underneath the seats? I did that when I changed out my fuel filter and it worked out great!

I didn't get rid of it on purpose
And yeah, I ran it dead with the F/P connector, still sprayed, It was likely because I had a 1/4 tank and the presure in the tank caused it to flow anyway,

And your just like me. I have a protege I'm using while I work on my MX.
fun cars i might say. Mine has a bit of power to it that impresses me, and is great for cruising.

Mine is an auto, and its not too impressive. Gets from A to B though, and cruise/ac is nice

mine is auto, but I guess it's got the upgraded 4cyl? There apparently are a few different versions of the 4 cylinder that they use, and mine is the best of them. But yeah mine has ac/cruise/sunroof.

I'm doing a FUN stereo build!
My buddy and I randomly came across an add on Kijiji. seven amps, several subs, several speakers, boxes, wiring... lots of stuff.
Drove 3h one way to get it, dropped $500 each.
I am going to have:
4 8" subwoofers, right against the back of the trunk, firing up/foreward
1 10" badass sub firing foreward/right
4 6x9's in the cargo tray
2way component set in the rear stock location
coax's up front
5 seperate amps. 11 amped channels.
Roughly... 1400W
all the components are rather cheap stuff, but its gonna be sweeeet. (mostly sony explodes(xplod), some clarion, some rockford, some pheonix gold, some eclipse)
Now, my buddy is using the other half of the pile. 2 12's, component Infinity references in front doors, 2way 6x9 in the rear panels, 6x9's and the smaller type (uh, 4x3?) in the cargo tray, and... thats it. 3 amps.
hahahahaha... I'm pumped.
Now, I know its not the best bang for the buck or the best way to do it, but I'm going to have an awesome time with my 5 subs, 5 amps, and 8 speakers.
btw, its probably not going in THIS car. on the lookout for a cleaner one.
