Okay, I have another thread on this but I figured I;d post in the right place this time =)
So I have some bad struts and springs right now.
I would like to do the KLZE engine swap and I could have sworn I read you need to upgrade suspension with that. In the process of buying new struts my dad talking me into buying stock and the high end springs be dealing with the weight of the new engine (He's a mechanic) and now when I'm getting springs there telling me all the springs there selling just lower the car.
So I have pretty much no idea what direction I should be going with with.
and I can't seem to find the article I was reading before. and to add on to that
I'm in edmonton and the roads are pretty bad.

Could any one sugjest a strut spring combo? :D

This is the link to the struts from oemfordparts.com Click Here

Keith is excellent to deal with.

The ZX-2 struts are a direct fit. You can also order 2 metal thrust bearings from them for the ZX-2, as opposed to the plastic Mx-3 ones.

The only modification necessary is if you use the front MX-3 strut mounts, the hole needs to be enlargened slightly. If you use the ZX-2 mounts, they are a direct fit.

There is an excellent write-up in the FAQ's telling you exactly what you need.

If you can find the Eibach Pro springs, they should be a bit softer than the others available, to accomodate the rougher terrain. I have the H & R springs, and wish that they were a bit softer, but I do think the drop is perfect.

I never could quite get an answer to whether it was better to order springs made for the ZX-2, or the Mx-3. I went with Mx-3 springs.

those are not the shocks you want.

these are...

PART NUMBER: M-18000-Z2
DESCRIPTION: Heavy duty Tokico struts performance tuned to match Eibach springs for ZX2 suspension. Provide improved body control with firmer ride. Set of four (4) struts.
PRICE: ~$160.00usd (oemfordparts.com)

Those are the right springs, but you'll be lucky if they are in stock. The Eibach Pro Kit for the Escort ZX2 will be available from oemfordparts.com as well.
