Hey guys, I wonder how much is the mazdaspeed muffler worth to the community.

If I were to buy one, what would be a price I should be willing/expecting to pay?

I hear they're a miracle of engineering work or something like that.

From what car? Is it a msp muffler? If so I want one. I would pay 100 bucks for one as they would be used, or trade for my magnaflow.

It's supposedly from a MX-3. Authentic Mazdaspeed muffler.

How much were they new?

The 9SM5 40 100 is the part number. An actual part made for the MX-3?

It seems to be the real deal. I bought some other bits off him. It was a jspec car with 1.5 z5 engine, he converted it to a ZE then sold it a week later! I considered it, but too restrictive for ZE with that pipe.

As I browse through my MAZDASPEED Presso/AZ-3 Touring Kit Catalog I notice that item number 7 is a Mazdaspeed muffler that looks identical to the pic above.

So I would say that it may very well be the OEM mazdaspeed mx-3 muffler It should say 'mazdaspeed' on the side of the tip.

Not for nothing but who cares what brand it is when the piping is that small and it looks in as rough shape as it is in the pic? I would pay no more than $50 for that POS, Mazdaspeed or not.

I'm just interested how it would sound or change the tone mated to a k8ze (the motor it was intended for)

I wouldn't pay a lot for it, but if it's genuine I would want to have it for a decent price. It's a bit of history.
