Timing retard crazy idea

Alright I already know for a fact that I can use a variable resistor on the coolant sensor to adjust my fuel mixture. I'm now thinking what if I tie into my knock sensor with a volume switch(variable resistor) how much retard can I get. Yes it sounds crazy I'll explain the entire theory later. ANYONE know how much the knock sensor will retard the overall timing.

I love crazy ideas!
That's interesting about the resistor. I'd like to know more.
Are you trying to push your timing retard for better performance?

thanx for the link there is some good info in there alot of reading. according to that page if I want to retard my timing significantly the crank angle sensor would be the better sensor to play with. Not shure now if I need to play at all I got a deal on MS cheap

Figure #16 indicates a maximum retard of 5º due to knock detection.

Yah I saw that 5 degrees is enough for a 1/4 bar of boost with good fuel. when I build it I will show you my top secret invention. I'll use the stock ecu to control fuel and spark for mild boost(I think all theory right now)
