WHY WOULD MY CAR BE IDLING AT 3000 RMPS on start up right away??

Need more info then that...
Is it a V6? Auto? 4Cyl? How long does it do it for?
I know mine goes for about 2 min then falls down after it has warmed up a little.
Ohhh and WHY ARE YOU YELLING AT EVERYONE!!

what does the rpm drop down too when its warm? if its around 700 thats good, but a 3 k cold idle is wrong, it should be around 2
