My 92 MX-3 RS was totaled, about to buy a 94 MX-3 GS (pics)

Yep my MX-3 was totaled. Long story short this guy merged into me, and pushed me into the center median which busted my tire.

It doesn't look like much but I guess it's because they have to re-paint it, that's why it costs to much.













I'm hesitant about posting the link to the MX-3 I'm looking at because the deal isn't finished yet, but they're asking 1900, but we talked them down to 1700 and we're asking 1600 now. Does this seem like a good price? The car is in very good condition.











Before I let the insurance company take my 92 MX-3, what should I strip off of it?

I dunno, they're offering to either fix it, or give me 2800 for the car. And since I can get a GS for about 1600...I'm really wanting to total this car and go get a GS.

Buy it now, thats a great price! Don't scare them away, you are lowballing them w/ 1600 if its in great running condition like you say! That paint is all getting fixed for that price too? I sold my 95RS for 1300 and it had ripped seats, an burned oil! Not to mention it had no accessories!

OH I get it now. Total the car, get the money, and buy another car - swap parts over for whichever ones are the best. DO you get to keep both cars or do they tow the other for you? That looks like NO damage whatsoever. If you can somehow get money, sell the car on your own, make like 800$ of it for a salvage title, then def. buy that GS.

The GS isnt that bad, it may be a good buy, but high k = crappy k8 usually. Its your call, how much did you like your RS?

Oh I liked my RS a lot, just...NO POWER. And FWD, well, can't fix FWD...

I'm looking for a cheap RWD car but they're all more expensive than this GS I'm looking at.

+1.. i'm going through the same thing right now, and all i need is a new bumper. really irritating. they should pay you out and also give you a buy back price, which is supposedly what they'd pay for a salvage car from the junkyard, somewhere in the neighborhood of a few hundred bucks.

ICBC will let you buy the car back, but you need to have a salvage dealer ID or something like that which allows you to buy cars that are written off etc...

nice upgrade, a 94 gs is way better than a 92 rs just need to swap out seats to a 92 and your done

Take the $2800 from insurance, buy the GS, use the remainder of the cash for a ZE swap. Problem solved
