Hello everyone,

My name is Ryan, and this is maybe my 3rd visit to mx-3.com. I would like to start off by thanking solo_ryder for suggesting the sign up, it was the boost I needed to actualy do it.

As my Sig says, I am a former owner of a 1993 Ford Probe, I pulled the motor out of the Probe because the body was rusted beyond repair, but had an extremely strong motor. Said motor is currently powering my 6. The 6 is a 1993 mx-6 2.5L DE, I/H/ Res tp, 2.5 catback Exhaust, Stage 3 cm clutch, 9lb fw, RR Racing poly mm inserts, RR Racing udp, B&M sts, coned tb, I deleted the A/C, P/S, and the cruise control. That is all I can think of. My 6 is decently quick for what it is.

I also have a 1993 Mazda mx-3 here is the information on from the previous owner's fs thread.

2.5l klde 94 Probe GT bottom end, rebuilt.new acl rod/main/thrust washers. npr piston rings. polished crank. klze heads ported and polished. valve grind, new seals, ze springs, de retainers and locks, ze cams, combustion chamber ported (lowers compression now a ~9.2-9.4:1) new head gasket, water pump, new oil pump, timing belt and components...my guess is less then 3k on motor

brand new garrett t3/t4 57trim .60/.63 custom 2.5in mandrel bent exhaust to a new thrush muffler. no cat no egr. BEGI fmu albro 255lhp fuel pump, AFPR, new liquid filled gauge, new NGK plugs and wires, cap, rotor, turbo xs FMIC, turbo xs 38mm external wastegate, brand new HKS SSQV bov, oil catch can, doesn't have power steering. deleted for less troque steer,no A/c, no cruise control, no radio no speakers <- i didnt buy it with a stereo. comes with 15in kobe lights and the stock set of rims, theres a manual boost controller, stock injectors, running 5 psi all day long, short throw shifter.

With that being said, I got the car with definate problems. When I went to pick up the car I was told it leaked oil from the v/c's and it lost about 1 qt a week, well I drove it home (61st ST in mil to E in Kenosha) and I needed to add 1.5 qt's. So needless to say it leaked WAY more than I was told. The car didn't come with a w/b so I have no idea what my a/f is, but getting 12 mpg tells me that I am running insanely rich or I have a massive fuel leak. Since I have owned the car, I fixed the v/c's leaking, for the most part it seems like the front one may be leaking a little still, but not sure. When I pulled the vc's off there was more rtv than there was gasket so I would say that was some of the problem. I can't for the life of me get the car to idle cold, it fires right up no problem EVERY single time but if I don't pedal it there is no getting it to run until warm. it came with an afpr, but no fittings or lines. I just got off work, so I'm going to bed, if I remember anything else I will add it later, Nice to meet you all

Ryan

Thank's for the kind welcome everyone.

I've been working on the k series motors since 2004 when I picked up my probe. It was actually a very interesting experience for me. It was my first stick vehicle, and my father tried to teach me to drive stick without success before I bought it. Drove 45 minutes to check it out, liked it got in and drove it away like I was born to drive it. Been stuck on the kl ever since. It was the first motor I ever took the time to try and work on, and besides 1 distributor failure(wasn't my dis) I have had no mechanical problems with these motors. and I LOVE the sound that they produce.

fowljesse, even as the 3 sits it is pretty quick, I'm still a little scared of the car. Which I guess it a good thing because it makes me respect it more.

93SOHC- I live in Kenosha right off hwy E

boosted_bullet Where are you in/by Wi?

Awesome. I know where E is. We definately gotta hang sometime. Also good to know there is someone near me that knows about Kseries, as I am new to the 6cyl world. I am well versed with B motors but still have much to learn on the K

That sounds good to me, it's been a long while since I've met up with anyone sporting the same interest in a car that I do.
