Front Coil Springs Recall and Replacement

Quick question: BOTH front coil springs on my '92 failed within a week. I understand from a dealer east of Toronto that Mazda Canada will replace them free of charge under a lifetime warranty because they were the subject of a recall in '97.

The problem is that my regular Mazda dealer in Toronto says they've never heard of the warranty extension and free replacement.

There are references all over the internet about Transport Canada demanding a recall, but nothing official from Mazda Canada. Can anyone tell me the Mazda Canada Recall information so that I can have the work done at my normal dealer in Torronto?

Thanks

Your dealer is obviously being a douche bag. They have a section for Recalls on the website that dealers use. It shows up rather clearly, and I can't imagine why one in Toronto would be any different than the one in my hick town. You could call Mazda Canada...

It is not a lifetime replacement.... When I worked at Mazda for 2 yrs I always discounted the MX-3's that came in with broken springs but after they were replaced the 1 time (it was not a recall just a replacement) They would look up your VIN and if it had been done you had to pay! A lifetime warrenty is something I have NEVER heard of while I have been at any dealership! :freak:

You're right. My Mazda dealer told me it was a one-time replacement since there was a fit I believe cause they added some protective cover or something.

The auto-sealbelts are lifetime however.
