Fowljesse's custom tail lights

So far, I've only done performance upgrades, so I decided to give my "other" girl some cosmetics. Mooneggs gave me a set of OOOld Altezzas to experiment with.
I put them in the oven to loosen up the glue, and got on here to see how long, and what temp... and I started to smell burning

The outer cover, that he painted all red, was melting! So I tore it off, and had this:
Then I put shelf paper over it to make a rough template
The turn signal covers had melted, so I popped them out, and made new ones out of a sample piece of smoked Lexan that was too light for visors.
The reflective part behind the turn signals were faded badly, so I covered them with Aluminum tape

I stuck the template to a piece of plastic leftover from my wheel skirts, and cut it out. Then I trimmed it down to fit over the lights. This took the longest. Then I screwed them in place. I will now use Duraglas (a stronger bondo) to smooth everything out.
I need opinions as per the poll!
I'll put up pics when they're done.

Thanks
Here's another option: I'm thinking about blackening the chrome except the rings around the red, and smoked plastic.

I have no time to screw around so I'm envious of you. Carry on this looks interesting.

glad to see you are making use of the taillights - I remember I paid $350 for that set of altezzas, something like the 6th set ever made or something...
I say definately black out the chrome rings and maybe make red bulb covers for all 4... that would be cool.
can't wait to see how this ends up!

Are these actually going into production? I'd like to see black ones. How much will they cost? Do they come in black? I REFUSE TO PAY MORE THAN $200!!! The silver is cool, but I'd prefer black.
Why isn't he answering my questions?!?!?
It must be a hoax.

I thought you were serious at first. Ahaha!
I decided I'm definitely going to make them all black, except the thin rings around the lenses, after I bondo them smooth.

Bravo batman! They're on their way to looking awesome already

I would colour code to your paint and keep the thin chrome rings around each light. Once you do that, you should give them to me

Thanks
I've been leisurely screwing with them, filling the gaps with bondo. The only chrome wil be thr rings right around the lenses.
