Looking for a good exterior window film

I'm looking for a window film to cover my Plexiglass windows that is not expensive, but will work well for many years. It needs to protect the outside of the windows. I am thinking about replacing my windshield, and would need to protect it, but still have good visibility (I know it's illegal, and could kill me in a wreck). I looked into headlight covering film, but don't know much about it. Do any of you have insight?

I've done alot of research.
That link doesn't work for me.
I could use 3M stuff, but it would cost $1000, and I'm concerned about the vinyl's optical quality. I'm looking for something in between.

Try these guys out, Not much info on the site that could find, But maybe if you contacted them you could work something out. Looks good from the pics of a guy with a baseball bat smashing the window but doesnt break.
