Cracks in bumpers- fixable or F'd?

The bumpers have some cracks in them, can they be repaired somehow or do they have to be replaced? Looks like it took a low speed bump on the front right corner and the area around the license plate is all spider webbed with cracks.
What is the price of a good scrap yard bumper I wonder.

yes most use bondo or fiberglass but as we all know it WILL crack again and maybe worse. A good thing to do is use a plastic welder and weld the cracks closed. A new or j/y bumper will cost you around $60 - $300+ usd .....plastic welder $30 - $80 usd.

Mine is like that a little too, I think it is only the paint. The cracks don't seem to go through at all, and it still seems stable.

Since my car looks like a shite box, I'm leaving mine for now, but I'll check back here for what you did :)

From my experience the stock bumpers don't crack easily, but the primer/paint/lacquer layer does. Hard to tell without pics but it might be fine underneath. The one time mine did crack on my, I used fibreglass... it's cracked again

If your cars been painted they may not of put a flexer in the paint for the bumpers so when it got bumped the paint cracks. Drop by a body shop and ask them, I went to 3 different shops to ask about a certain repair I needed to do. I got three different answers, all good.

These are full fledged cracks- probably from a bump or two. I know where I can get some Junk yard bumpers but I gotta say taking them off seems like a pile of work. Does the welding work very well I wonder? I will bring it around to some shops and get their view.

Taking off the bumpers is maybe a 5 minute job :) One in each wheel well where it meets the fender(mine are phillips/8mm), one right beneath the bumper holding the corners steady(push plug/clip), two behind each signal marker(10mm), two under the hood(10mm), and either two more under the hood(10mm) or 4 screws(phillips) under the hood out of the bumper. Voila.

my rs was like that with the spider webs and it was just the paint from where it had a minor impact long ago. my gs has a nasty split in it. i plan on getting a different one before paint.

Yeah, fix it from the inside. Your Auto paint/ body supplier will have the stuff.
