Hear rear brake grinding noise while braking.

For some odd reason I hear brake grinding noise from the rear when I press the brake pedal down. It only makes the grinding noise when it gets down to slower speeds like 3-10 mph. I recently replaced my front pads with some Kevlar pads which I expect to make some noise but this brake-grinding noise is coming from the rear. Could it be something else besides the pads?

why would it be anything but the brakes? when you press the brakes, the only thing that's moving are the calipers. maybe you need to regrease the slides or your pads are worn out. they're supposed to make noise when theyre getting low

Why do i hear it coming from the rear? Back brakes don't engage when you press on the brakes.

Yea I'll do an inspection this weekend when I'm not busy but I think it might be sticky pads in the back. I was just checking if anyone else had the problem before.

The rear brakes don't engage when you press the pedal???

mine were doing this, and the slider had locked up and wore down the pad on the backside of the rotor. O'reilly has caliper's for like 69.00 but they dont have the bracket, or pads with them. So you have to use the bracket off the old. But as I have been told, and noticed to my knowledge, the rear brakes are about 25% of your stopping power, and the front does the other 75%. Which makes sense about having to change the front pads more often. If I am wrong, someone correct me. I would like to know.

It might be closer to 10% rear. But ya. I think it would be funny to have rear breaks that do not kick in. It is not uncommon to have one of the rears stick. If you search around you'll find this often. I think most people noticed mpg waaay too low.. that lead them to the rear breaks.
