HVAC Intake Location?

Okay, I'll admit I didn't search this because I don't know what its called, and searching 'intake' would be useless...

When you sit in your MX, turn the fan to 4, crank it over to the blue side, and turn the AC off, where is it drawing the air from? The engine bay? My air is always hot, hotter than the air through the windows.... Does anyone know where the intake is located? I don't even know where to look. I know when you put it on recirculate its in the passenger footwell... but when drawing "fresh air"?

I don't have AC, I'm in a 93 RS.

If someone can tell me this, I would re-route it to my front bumper, internal ram air!!!!

Thanks in advance

Do you have to pull of the cowl to see the opening, or can you see it from the engine bay? I'll just go look.
I can't see anything obvious. I suppose its hidden? Below the cowl... to me that means that it is drawing air mainly from the engine bay...

I'll put a U bend (like plumbers) and maybe a filter in.
