				Blame It on the EGR!

				I find that some people like to put the blame on the egr a lot, infact the egr comes up as a problem more times than none, when realistically it has nothing to to with the problem at all.
So I figure lets put the Hate on the EGR, THATS RIGHT, DOWN WITH THE EGR. It's just a Commie Part anyway, so if you having something wrong with your car, Post it here cause its obviously the EGR's Fault lol

				I hate EGR - cant remember the number of times i had some trouble or other and finally ended up being the EGR. The first one was like this -
http://www.mx-3.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=60744" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
All i did was plug up a hanging vacuum tube - as i was told by mechanics and several people in the forum. After that i didnt get to drive the car very much and even when i did it was for short trips - so it didnt have a chance to warmup.
2 weeks later - on my first long drive - when the temp gauge went up to halfway - the engine would not idle no matter what. I had to keep pushing the gas pedal to keep the engine running and even then it would run like crap. I fought with that for next 3 weeks - trying every fix possible and to make it worse there were no codes at all. Everytime this happened i will go out and pull the battery cable (resetting the ECU) and it will run fine for another 20-30 mins. Needless to say - i was very close to junking the car..... After some long hard research i finally put things together and fixed it - it was such a relief. After that i welded a blocking plate into the exhaust manifold where the EGR tube connects. The funny thing is - i did an "emissions test" just for fun (it was a free test to create awareness or something like that) and it passed it with flying colors even with the EGR blocked.

The IM doesn't have the EGR hole, and the ZE ECU's don't actually control the EGR either.
