im getting a sound from the timing belt cover area, mostly on acceleration, that sounds like a piece of gravel in a coffee can. im leaning towards timing belt tensioner bearing... any suggestions?

if its not a pully or a tensioner, could be the key pin on the cam pulley.Happened to me. I had to remove the cam from the head, and knock it back in pretty firmly.

Advise to post future engine questions in the forum pertaining to your engine layout. I suspect the tensioner, was the old one checked before putting back in?

i think this is a general question as it pertains to both engine layouts w/ timing belts... but thanks for the advice. i didnt think to check the tensioner at the time of the timing belt install... im going to dig in this week. seems as though its becoming more infrequent as i put miles on the new belt, but im going to check it out anyway
