Hey everyone id like to start by introducing myself my name is Vladimir short vlad im 21 and i just became an mx3 owner:). This isnt my 1st car i had a 87 325E twin turbo (but i blew the tranny 3 days after turbo install) and a 1992 Ford escort 1.8 mazda motor but that one didnt last long eather i had to junk it after a week because previous owner had done the timing belt and who ever did it didnt tighten the timing gear on the crank. I just bought a 1993 mx3 gs yestarday and i need your guys opinion on the deal i got. I bought it for 1600$ with 177000 original clicks (verifyed at carfax.com) 2 owners 2nd owner was a lady and she used it as a summer car so it was stored in winter.
The good on the car:
absolutly no rust (exept one buble on the passenger side rear fender)
brand new tires
The bad:
needs a new muffler and a tune up
possibly new brake pads
The car is not on the road yet because i dont have enough money right now to get it on the road but possibly by friday i will have it on the streets :)
SO my main question is whats to come at 200k whats the common problems and repairs and allso what do you guys think of the deal. Im really hoping to meet someone in my area who likes these cars as much as i do im at Victoria park and Ellestmere (north york toronto)

No such thing as "Just" another new guy! You're helping keep the MX-3 blood pumping!
Welcome to the boards, Vlad. That sounds like a good deal. Most people switch out their muffler right away, anyway. Brake pads.. No BigE.
Do a search (In the red strip, unser the MX-3 @ the top of the page), and you'll find out everything you need to know about maintenance. I'll tell you this: Try to find out when the timing belt was last changed!
