Try stepping down grits from the one that caused the scratches. For instance, if they are from 600, sand lightly with 600, then go to 800, 1000, and 2000, then polish. If you sanded them so much that they are thin, and you're worried that you may sand through (not likely), you can get clear plastic paint to fill them in.

If you replace the lense with GTS, you will lose your pattern, and visibility will be very bad.

You must step down to 2000 grit to get perfectly clear headlights.
Let us know how it works out.

Start WET sanding with 600 ... Work your way up to 2000. The higher number you go up, the longer the time you need to spend wet sanding. Using a rotary tool or something like that to polish will make them look alittle better, but... by hand works as well. Take your time on them, and remember... Polishing them makes a huge difference.
Good luck and take some pics so we can see the turn out.

You should not sand your headlights. It will make them fade quicker. Headlights come with a coating that helps them from yellowing from the UV. If you sand your lights you will take this coating off. You can use plastic polish such as Meguiars PlastX or get a headlight polishing kit from a autoparts store. It will bring them back to almost 100%. If you sand your lights the yellowing will come back.

Since they're already sanded, do the above procedure, and when they're crystal clear, you can clear coat them, and they'll last a lonng time. And yeah, I forgot to say wet sand!

u need the dispersion pattern on the lense to be able to see clearly at night
ive already done expiraments with it
i had one lense cleared and used the stock 9004 bulb, it actually reduces visiblity by like 40%
but i gota admit they look amazing during the day especially with higher rated kelvin bulbs
but y not just invest in projectors from a TSX like im doing
u get the best of all worlds: a clear lense, better lighting with a blueish tint and over all a nice pair of looking headlights :D

The restoration kit should get it clear. Then the clear coat should keep it clear for a while. You probably won't need the Meguire's.
Put up a pic when you're done!
