All
Appreciate your help as Im puzzled. I have just replaced head gaskets in my Eunos 30x (Mx3) K8 V6 which all went well. Back together and started without to much fuss. Ran at about 3000 rpm and sounded fine for a short while. Second attempt tried hard to start but now nothing dead as. Appears as though there is a sensor or electronic problem, just spins over from the starter but nothing. I have checked all the obvious things connectors etc.
Ay suggestions?
Great site, the on line workshop manual was really hand.

probably you disty went bad, they like to do that at the worst times ;)

they are about 250$ in canada.

you may want to look into the HEI mod.

the instructions are here on this site(v6 FAQ section)

it is really easy, and worth it.

I doubt the disty is suddenly going to die after replacing the head gaskets. I would double check your timing, make sure you do not have a vaccum leak (squirt WD40 or starter fluid around the head seals and the intake seal) if it starts then dies you have a vaccum leak. Double check compression.

Same thing happened to me I started it after a swap on Saturday, ran nice, but died after a little while and then on Sunday, nothing, it turned over but no vroom...

I really hope someone can help, and if you find the reason for your problem, please post it it might be good for me too...

ya, my disty went when I was working on my motor.

totally unrelated to what I was working on too.

these distys really are junk, do the HEI mod, and my guess is that it will start right up.

mine did. any it only costs like 20$ to do it, worth a try I think, also, my car runs way better than before also.

Did the HEI mod, checked the spark which is fine. Still doesnt run, wont start Grrrrrrrrrr.
Its such a bugg#$ of a job recheck the cam timing with removal of the belt covers. I had marked the distributer so its fine. Double checked the cam timing looked fine after a few revolutions of the engine. Fact is it started and ran fine, then stopped. About to resort to the Mazda workshop which is frustating (and expensive).
Appreciate the discussion, thanks guys
And if your in Oz, (well Brisbane Qld) let me know we will sort drinks
