heres how it all started, I drove the car about 30 miles to work, parked it and 12 hours later went to turn it on, nothing it cranks perfect but won't start. Checked it out no spark, bought another distributor from a friend, spark taken care of, now it still wont start, bought the new crank sensor, still wont start. Bought a can of starting fluid, and the car stays on with that but dies when I stop spraying. The fuel pump is also good so I need help on what else to check,

Thanks,

Erik

I hope that it has a stored code. Check the CEL codes and let us know if anything is stored. Otherwise, you only need a few parts of the car for it to crank. After it cranks the rest of the stuff keeps it running properly. For it to crank you need a good starter, good battery voltage, a good ground for the battery and all the other chasis grounds, fuel pump and good working injectors, properly working VAF (air flow meter), good disty (which includes a good disty cap and rotor), good plug wires and plugs, the car must be timed properly, and Both of the crank angle sensors must be working.
The second crank angle sensor is inside the disty, it might be bad. You could have clogged fuel injector/s or a bad wire somewhere that is not giving them power (however, if one or two are clogged the car should still crank, but not run very well. That is unless it is the power feed in which case you are missing one or both banks of fuel injectors). Your VAF could have gone bad. Your ground to the battery could be corroded at the battery or at the spot where it grounds to the cars chasis. With all this said, it is ALOT easier to pull any codes in the hope that the car will tell you what is wrong instead of checking each of these things in search of the problem.

I dont have an OBD 1 scan tool I was on the Ford probe forums and was told to jump the GRND and TEN ports on the vehicle diagnostic port and that would give me the codes

Im checking all the grounds as of right now.....

Thanks,
