If you cant tell from the pictures it seems to be detached a little not totally but I can move the plastic part around although there seems to be a wire or something on the inside, get back to me and thanks

it looks like a temp sensor to me.

its part of your motor so based on if your motor is a v6 or 4cyl you put it in those forums.

Definitely a temp sensor.. looks like for the SOHC 92-93 RS car. Not positive though.

whats broken? the clip that holds the connector onto the sensor? Thats an easy fix if you have a junkard local

It is either the sender for the temp gauge or for the Engine Computer so it knows what amount of fuel to inject. Disconnect it and if the motor runs like a dog it is the ECU. If not, the temp gauge. P.S. Tunes67 I have another question in 'head scratcher' if you have a minute. Cheers.

Its the 92 RS and its not the clip its the part connecting to the bolt or w/e so its a temp sensor Im guessing could I take one from the v6 or do I have to take it from 4?

Did you run the engine and remove the lead? Either the engine will change tune or the temp gauge will stop working. The senders will be different depending on the job they do. Maybe go to a wrecker and find one the same out of a wreck? Cheers.

I think you need one from a four banger, but if a V6 will fit without leaking or crossing the threads it is fine.

it turns on the fan when it gets hot enough... you can finish breaking it if you want and there should be a small metal rod sticking out connect a wire to it and ground the wire and that turns your fan on all the time i did that all summer on my escort cause it broke during the winter you can leave it of usually and if it starts to warm up just hook it up. you could also wire a switch in the car to manually control the fan using that
