KLZE into and MX3 auto transmission

ok, so the transmission is on, and i got 5 bolts in, but there are holes for more bolts in the ZE that arent there on the tranny. i got all the old bolts in. anyone have a ZE to a auto? is this a problem?

In short yes

it should all bolt up n go fine...., till you get the flashing 'auto' light.

basically the KL ecu doesn't work with the K8 auto box, your best bet is either get the K8 ecu chipped to KL specs or use the K8 ecu with an AFC

don't expect the tranny to last too long tho

i didnt get the flashing hold light until the tranny started to die, the stcok tcu still ran the tranny...and yah, the auto wont last too long. i got about 6-7 months of use from the auto tranny on the klze.

Get the valve body modified and a transmission cooler and you should be ok.

Someone on that website ran a KLDE with a 50shot nitrous and 60k miles. Tranny was still in great shape. Of course, he had the 2 mods I listed

Hmmm, don't forget the Probe tranny is slightly stronger to start with.

For sure get a tranny cooler, but if you're gonna go to the trouble of getting the tranny modified, surely you'd be better to consider swapping to a 5spd?
