gold v6 badge

hi peeps just wondering if any one knows why i have a gold v6 badge on my car and others seem to have chrome ones?
the car has been in family from new so it is from factory
car is 91

I have 2 GS cars.. both have gold V6 emblems.. both cars are the 92 model and both had a build date of 11/91. The both cars were ATX cars.. both cars had sunroofs and all other identical options.. with the exception that one car had A/C and the other didnt. My guess is that they all came with gold emblems and others have either faded or rubbed off the gold to reveal the chrome underneath.

my GS is a 92 with a gold emblem and its ATX (but not for long)

my fast car 92 gs had a gold emblem but the slow car 92 gs had a chrome one... my first 94 gs had a chrome one too...
wow what a mystery...
