My 94 dash swap Pictures (lots of pics)

1st of all I am only an enthusiastic amateur, not a professional and this installation is not quite finish to this day...
Last Summer I found a Junkyard that had a few MX-3 and specially one with a pristine 1994 Black dash, so I grabbed the entire black interior for a mere 150$ CAN... My MX-3 is a 93 with a Tan interior as you can see in this pic (Sorry poor quality pictures)

And this is the beauty I picked up in the Junkyard

First I removed the 93 dash

Saved the 93 dash wiring

Had to cut off 1 of the cluster bracket cause my dash have a cable speedo and that bracket was interfering with the cable (center of image)

The center bracket on the 94 dash had to be modified to slide onto the existing floor brackets in my car

And Notches where made to accommodate the 94 side bracket to kinda fit in between the 93 body brackets (I hope you can follow this)

I kept the 93 wiring, it was easier to interface them with the 93 main fuse box. I also had to change almost all the connectors to every buttons or switches on the 94 dash, but at least the wires color coding do match between years
And this is the final product

And the day after

Added some plasma gauges and Aluminum rings around the gauges plus changed the clock and turn arrows color blue to match the gauge faces

Conclusion:
Up to this day, the floor brackets aren't bolted yet and I have to reposition the sides brackets, the climate controls had problems with the cables so I had to unhook them... Thats about it, all the switches work nicely and the look is a lot better...
I hope my post has been useful to someone, next step is an engine swap and a rear disk brake conversion, wish me luck
