Lockless door handles.. from what car??

I want to delock the door handles on my MX just to make it a little safer (any lock can be picked) but dont just want to smooth over the lock and paint it.
Do any rear door handles from other Mazdas share the same shape of the mx3's? I did this to my last car and it looked much smoother and was obviously safer.

so you want to get rid of the lock but keep the handle, correct? You should be able to just disconnect the rod inside so you'll still have a key hole, but it wont function.

there is really nothing that is going to fit, not unless you want to do a bunch of work to the door. the easiest thing to do is diconnect the rod from inside, then fill the lock hole and repaint the handle. it will look alot smoother.

Most thieves either break the window or use a slim jim. Both bypass the outside lock, thus deleting the key hole does nothing to deter a thief. If they want in it is really as simple a throwing something at the window...

The mx3's weak point IS the handle.. it pops put with your hand if u do it card or not installed properly.. why not shave the handles? weld the handle from the back.

Didn't someone on here Weld a plate on the inside of the door panel to prevent a Slim Jim from being used? Maybe I'm dreaming but i thought this topic came up a long time ago.
Anyway as Pat said. If they want in they'll just break your window.

hey be nice.
another reason to lockless-ize the door handles is for those of us who have keyless entry. for one, i never access my car with a key. so i find it useless to have a keyhole there anyway. besides, a lockless handle would look pretty nice ... not invaginated ...

SO what you meant to say then was that you have no key holes in your DOORS...

since I'm guessing one still remains for the rear hatch

How much did it cost to get your handles shaved? There is a guy around phila that wants 500$ and he says that includes painting the doors when he is done. Does that sound reasonable? Thanks, Vin

500 doesn't sound to bad for both doors
