Need help identifying 2 sounds!

Can anybody help to ID two different noises coming from the front end on my MX-3 1.8 V6 1993 (right hand drive)

The first occurs around the left hand side wheel area. It makes a clunking/grinding noise when cornering. Much louder when cornering to the right when more weight is pushed to left side. At first it seemed like a common CV sound but I checked it out and CV was fine and not even dry (replaced boot anyway). My next guess would be drive shaft but have no way of knowing for sure. Could it be spring/coil related?

The second sound is a regular ticking noise which seems to be coming from slightly right of the centre of the engine bay. It occurs only when the clutch is engaged and never wheel freewheeling. When power is applied (even only slightly) it disappears. ATX fluid was checked out and changed just on the off-chance.

Anyone have similar issues? Bit of a long-winded post but I think the more info the better with mystery sounds.

Hello

The first noise you describe is mostly sure the CVjoint. Not beacause the boot wasnt dry, that the CVjoint doesn't have a problem. Besides, I have a car with same age and same problems. Anyway, a new CVboot is allways good allowing the joint to live longer.

The second noise could be clutch bearings or something...
