anyone else heard about chipped xbox so you can download games on it

Yea they have those kicking around. You can D/L roms to it and play off the harddrive. There is one for sale on a local forum here.

yeh i have heard of those. You can completely customize them and run linux on them.

Check Craigslist Mitmaks.. I see them sell on there all the time. Dunno how often the pop up on your side of the state.. but I see them on the seattle craigslist all the time. Cheers

But really, you can install a crapload of emulators and various programs on them. I know the one we have can customize your backgrounds, sounds, and numerous other things. The emulators can actually allow you to install games from other 'systems' (i.e. atari, snes, sega genesis, nes, gameboy, ps-one, etc etc) and play them on the x-box. If I remember correctly though, you can't use a modded xbox with xbox live because it'll detect your hd and boot you out the system. You can however use another thing called Xbox connect which'll let you do p2p games. So, all hope isn't lost in that aspect... besides, last time I checked xbox connect was free... but its been a few months since we've used it.

Hot Da&%, the 360 is total crap. I've got one, have had it since X-Mas and played it for maybe 3 months in that time. The rest of the time it has been broken. 2 power supplies, one X-box brand and one off brand, and the HD crapped from the overheating BS. A waste of 400 bucks IMO. I am deff thinking about the PS3, but at 600 I am waiting for a price drop.

I do this, I can install modchips and the whole bit. Ive done it for a few friends pretty cheap I only charged the modchip cost + labor (about $20). If anyone needs anything done let me know. Xbox and PS2 I can do.
