Is it just me, or do other people have a plain wood cover under the carpet flap over the spare? Is mine just homemade or what?

Really? What'd you put there instead? Mine doesn't actually bother me, it just kinda struck me funny because it looks kinda rigged up. Maybe if I painted it black at least...

I cut a slab of closed cell foam rubber in a round shape and the correct thickness to pack into the spare tire-well over the spare doughnut. Carpet just sits smooth over top o that...

Ha I guess the funky wood piece annoyed you enough to do that...guess I'll probly settle with how it is, keep a solid floor back there

Mine is made of MDF.

I fiber glassed a sub box in the spare tire well, and i'm now making a false floor about 4 inches above the actual floor, to hide wires and my amp.

Mine is made of fiber press board. Strong, light, thin. I can sit on it and work in the trunk without it breaking and it is thin enough that you cannot see it under the carpet. I used the stock piece as a template and used the stock plastic locating tabs to keep it in place.

I broke mine with the speakers.. kinda dropped it in. I now use a carpet only.

Yeah, mine's not really broken, exept for a little chipped maybe...

I'm having a hard enough time with the dealer trying to get my power seat belts fixed under the recall...

It appears there's no record of my VIN# in anywhere in the database so I'm not sure how it's gonna play out

funny, my VIN number didn't exist as well :(

the wood does seem out of place though, doesn't it? struck me as very odd that came factory. I think a bit of painting'll do it, I'll underlay it with some sound deadening material as well, might sound better back there

Yeah, that is weird...the VIN and the cover

When I first saw that plank of wood I thought, "Yeah, somebody lost the original" ha

Yeah, little white peg type deals with a screw holding it on
and a cut out for a handle
